While this week's Law 120 assignments are heavy on reading, the assignments to complete are all Check Your Understanding assignments. As you complete them, please submit them so I can review and give you the thumbs up to continue.

Thank you, and have a great week.

Here are this week's Home Learning tasks. Remember, if attempting this course for Credit you must complete them all.

Further, Week 4a assignment has a mandatory reading that I've attached as a PDF titled "Try Judging".

Good luck and have a great week.

This week's home learning activities are taken from the Historica document "Canada Past & Present: A Citizenship Education Guide."

You will find these activities more straightforward than what we have been doing and ALL activities going forward will be similar and will deal with either Canadian history or Canadian citizenship.

In the attached document are two activities;

Activity 3: The Fur Trade

Activity 4: The Seven Years War

There are step by step directions/questions that you have to complete for each. The associated Worksheets are also attached within the document.

Good luck, have a great week. And if you need ANY help, please reach out.

Friday

Write a biography of one of your parents or grandparents. Make it interesting, but factual.

Firstly, I'd like to say how pleased I am with the work that has been returned to me to date for feedback and review. It has been exceptionally well done all around. Thank you.

Secondly, it may seem like the work below is an awful lot. The reason for that is the clarification from the Department of Education and the communique from the District that sets out the explanation for Grade 12s for recieving a credit in courses. In order to do, they must prove they meet the curricular outcomes and as such may be expected to do more than the 2.5-3 hours of work a week. As such, I have provided below lessons for 2 curricular outcomes. If you are hoping to recieve 'Credit' rather than simply 'Enrolled' in Law 120, the expectation is you will complete both and I will continue to provide you feedback.

Here are the two latest lessons for Law 120. They can be done in any order and deal with the following 2 outcomes:

1.6: Analyse the Charter of Rights and Freedoms to identify the rights, freedoms adn responsibilities of New Brunswick citizens

1.10: identify and describe the structure, powers and jurisdictions of the federal and provincial courts.

The attached document has all the work for the week and looks at in-migration and out-migration from provinces and provides you a website (Statistics Canada) that discusses the effect on communities and provinces of this migration.

It may look long...it is not. Take your time reading, the instructions are clear if you follow them step-by-step.

As always, reach out if you are have questions or need help.

Have a good week and stay safe.
