Good Morning everyone,

Here are the weekly guides for PE/Wellness activities for this week. The response on these guides has been very positive, so I am going to continue with them.

Also, today is day #1 of the ASD-N virtual Olympics! So in addition to the weekly guides, I will post each day of the Virtual Olympics activities as well. If you haven't already signed up, I believe you still can. All you need to do is complete each activity and record your results on the master data sheet that I shared last week.Make sure to take part, it's going to be a lot of fun!!

Have a great week everyone!

*** Daily PE/Wellness Activities - May 23 ***

Good morning everyone,

Here are the suggested daily PE/Wellness activities for today. If you are following the weekly activity guide for this week, you can refer to DAY #5 for the daily activities. Again, these activities are all curriculum based, so they are all great options.
Also, here is another example of a game from the Virtual Olympics, which will be starting next week on May 25. If you haven't already, make sure you register all students who are interested in participating. The last update I received said that we were up to nearly 250 students registered in the district! This is a great chance to participate in some structured activities, and get a little bit of competition as well!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Here are the suggested daily PE/Wellness activities for today. If you are following the weekly guide that was posted, you can refer to DAY #4 for the daily activities. These activities correlate to the curricular outcomes for each grade level, so they are highly recommended.

Also, here is another example of a Virtual Olympics activity for you all to practice.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everyone,

Here are the suggested daily PE/Wellness activities. If you are following the weekly guides that i posted yesterday, you can refer to DAY #3 for the daily activities. These activities are recommended as they are all aimed at meeting curricular outcomes.

Also, here is another example of a game from the Virtual Olympics if you are interested in practicing, this is called "Modified hoop and pole" and is a modified take on a classic indigenous game. Set up is very simple, and can also be modified to fit and available equipment you might have.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everyone,

Here is the weekly activity guide for all grade levels. I like how these have been going the last couple of weeks, so I will continue to post a weekly guide every Monday, and also try to post another fun game or activity each day. I will try and post a game from the upcoming "ASD-N Virtual Olympics as the daily game to give you and idea of what the activities included in those Olympics will be, so you can practice if you like!

Once again, these weekly guides are a great resource as all of the activities listed on the daily plans are derived from curricular outcomes for each specific grade level.

Have a great week everyone!

Good morning everyone,

Here are the suggested daily PE/Wellness activities for today. If you are following the weekly activity guides you can refer to DAY #5 of the weekly plan. These are great activities as they are all derived from the curricular outcomes for each grade.

Also, if you are looking for a simple game to try today, this one is called "Backboard Bank Shot". The set up is easy, and the only materials you need at just some implements to toss or throw (Ball, bean bag, socks, etc.) and something to catch those implements (hamper, box, bucket, etc.) You can change the size of the throwing object and the receptacle to increase or decrease the difficulty. This is a great way to practice your underhand toss or overhand throwing cues, as well as target accuracy.

Have a great day, and weekend everyone!

Good morning everyone,

Here are the suggested daily PE/Wellness activities for today. If you are following the weekly activity guides, you can refer to DAY #4 for the daily activities. Again, these activities are great because the activities are designed to meet curricular outcomes for each grade level.

Also, for another daily activity I am going to start to preview some of the activities students will see as part of the virtual Olympics, which will be starting on May 25. The great thing about the Virtual Olympics is that you have as many attempts at each activity as you want to try and record a result. So you can practice as much as you want to try and reach your goal for each activity! Today's example is going to be a simple series of self passing challenges. All you need for this challenge is a wall or hard surface you can pass a ball off of, and a ball of your choice (you can adjust the size based on skill level)

Reminder to try and post some examples of this weeks weekly scavenger hunt challenge as well, I would love to see some pictures of students attempting some of those challenges!

Have a great day everyone!
Good morning everyone,

Here are the suggested daily PE/Wellness activities for today. If you are following the weekly activity guides that I posted on Monday, you can refer to DAY #3 of the weekly guide. These are recommended activities, as they are derived from the curricular outcomes for each grade level.

Also, if you are looking for a fun activity to get your heart rate up with a little bit of competition, here is a backyard relay that you can try. If anyone else is like me, you have lots of recyclables around the house, so you can use them as a prop in this activity. You simply lay out a number of props in your space, set up a home base collection bin for each player participating and set up rules for how many items can be carried at a time, either 1 or 2, or as many as you can carry! Go until all props are collected, and see who finishes with the most!

Have a great day everyone!

Attached in this post is a link to the registration form for the ASD-N Virtual olympics. This competition will be 10 days of activities that can be done from home using simple and common equipement. Each day, students will be able to complete 3 activites that can have measureable results. Students can input their results into the spreadsheet to see where they stack up with students from across the district, and the province.

I would LOVE to see some of our students at the top of the leaderboards, because I know we can do it!

Good morning everyone,

Here are today's recommended PE/Wellness activities. If you are following the weekly guide I posted yesterday, you can refer to DAY #2 for the daily activities. I suggest sticking with these activities as they are related to specific curriculum outcomes for each of the grade levels.

Also, if you are looking a fun game to try today, here is one posted by one of our PE Leads, Paul Mackinnon, called "Hampered in". This is a simple game with multiple variations to fit any age or grade level. All you need are some bundled up socks and a laundry basket. This game is great for developing tracking stills and hand eye coordination.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everyone,

I am going to stick with the idea of weekly activity guides for Phys. Ed activities. I like the format of giving a plan for the week of structured activities that are hitting measurable curricular outcomes. The daily activities are fun, well organized, and easy to follow, so I can be sure that students are getting exposed to quality resources.

I will also continue to post a daily fun activity or game that can most often be used or modified to fit any age level, just in case students are looking for an extra outlet for some guided physical activity.

I have attached the weekly PE activity plan for all grade levels in this post.

Have a great day everyone!
*** Daily PE/Wellness Activities - May 8 ***

Good morning everyone,

Here are the suggested daily PE/Wellness activities. If you are following along with the weekly activity guide I posted on Monday, you can complete the activities for DAY #5. These activities are strongly encouraged as they are derived from the curricular outcomes for each grade level.

Also, if you are looking for a fun outdoor option, I made a quick video of a simple game yesterday called "Target Toss". This is basically a modified version of washer toss, and can be put together with pretty much any materials you have at home. It could be used as a option for this weeks weekly challenge, as it is a simple game you can enjoy with your family as well!

Reminder that you can submit entries for the weekly challenge all weekend if you like.

Have a great weekend everyone!
Here are the suggested daily PE/Wellness activities for today. If you are following the weekly activity guides posted on Monday, you can refer to DAY #4 of the guide that corresponds to your age group. Again, these are great activities as they are all correlating to grade level curricular outcomes for the students.

Here is an outdoor option for today. It looks like we might avoid the rain, so it may be a nice day to go outside and try some modified disc golf. All you need for this activity in a Frisbee and some targets (either place by you, or naturally occurring like trees, rocks, posts, etc.). I will post a quick video demonstration, as well as an activity guide to go along with it.

Also, I haven't gotten any submissions for original family games yet, so today might be a good day as well to get together with your family for some creative fun!

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning everyone,

Here are your daily PE/Wellness activities for today. For each grade level you can refer DAY #3 in the weekly guide posted on Monday for each age group. 'Once again, i strongly recommend following each set of guided activities for each day, as they are correlated to the curricular outcomes for each grade level.

Also, it's going to be a beautiful day. You can always supplement these activities with some outdoor activities of your choice.

I am going to share a fun and easy outdoor game option as well called "modified lawn bowling". It is super easy to set up, and it can also be modified to be played by just one person, or as many as you like!

Have a great day everyone!
