Good morning everyone!

I know it has been a stressful couple of days for everyone, especially the students. So, for today's activity, I am recommending a simple yoga practice, followed by a guided mindfulness relaxation practice. The yoga will be a bit of an upbeat practice with lots of movement, stretching, and fun! Then, the guided relaxation will bring their heart rates back down, and focus them back to their breathing and body sensations. The links will be to the youtube videos offering the practices, and can easily be played on a phone, laptop, smart tv, or any other connected device.

Have a great day!

To start the week off, I am going to give you an activity log to use to keep track of your daily physical activity. Its pretty simple. I want you to think about a goal for your physical activity each day. Using the log, you are going to say what your goal for the day was, what the activity you used to reach your goal was, and how long you participated for. We will use this as a baseline for now, and I will also throw in some example activities to use each day. For now, its a beautiful day, so my recommended activity for today is to get out into nature and go for a walk/hike or jog. Take a picture of yourself outside and upload it here, or send it to me in an email to matthew.sturgeon@nbed.nb.ca.

Hello Parents and students,

Here is an activity calender for this week of physical education for grade 3-5. The focus of this week of activities is imporving soccer skills through ball handling and ball control. Complete the daily activities, and you will see improvments in your skills!

I recommend emailing me a picture each day of your student completing an activity, just to check in!

My email is matthew.sturgeon@nbed.nb.ca

Good morning everyone,

Here are the recommended daily PE/Wellness activities. If you are following along with the weekly guide posted yesterday, yo can refer to DAY #2 for the daily activities. These are highly recommended as all activities tie to general curricular outcomes for each grade level.

Also, I thought it may be fun to share a little bit of a different activity with you folks today. Outdoor Ed Lead Paul MacKinnon started a fun knot tying series on Youtube, so here is a link to his first episode.

Weird as it might be, I actually find tying and practicing knots to be very relaxing and rewarded, and it is also very handy to know a few essential knots for your day to day lives.

Check it out!

Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning everyone,

I hope everybody enjoyed following along with the Virtual Olympics over the past 2 weeks.

This will be the last week for new material being posted for home learning, so I will post weekly guides for each age group to follow for this week.

Again, these guides are great because all of the activities because the correlate directly to curricular outcomes for each grade level. I will also post a daily game that you can try as well.

Have a great day, and week everyone!
