Les devoirs (homework) January 15th- January 19th

  • Continue doing the 3 sheets of the alphabet/numbers to 20.
  • Read lyrics to “Andrée Anguille” (yellow duo-tang).
  • Gesture: tuck your thumb in and close your four other fingers over your thumb). 
  • Listen to the song “Andrée Anguille” 
  •  Continue listening to French songs.

 To help your child to achieve greater success, here are a few suggestions you can use as a guide: 

French:

Questions that we will be discussing:

 Que fais-tu à l’école?(What do you do at school?)

Some possible answers:

·         À l’école, je lis. (At school, I read.)

·         À l’école, j’écris. (At school, I write.)

·         À l’école, je joue. (At school, I play).

·         Où habites-tu?

·         J’habite à…( example : Fredericton dans la rue Connaught.) (I live Fredericton on Conaught street).

·         (J’habite…  (en ville, à la campagne, au bord du lac Yoko…). (I live in the city, in the country, near the lake.)

Math:

·         Counting backwards from 50-0.

·         Dividing numbers into equal groups (ie: 12à 2 groups of 6, 6 groups of 2, 3 groups of 4, and 4 groups of 3). 

 ·         Represent a given number in a variety of equal groups with singles using models (up to 20) (e.g., 17 can be represented by 8 groups of 2 and one single).

  • Continue doing the 3 sheets of the alphabet/numbers to 20.

  • Read lyrics to “Lise Lapine” (yellow duo-tang).

    • Gesture: rub your four fingers using your thumb (same hand).  

  • Listen to the song “Lise Lapine” 

  • 1$ for popcorn (must be in by Wednesday)

  • Continue listening to French songs.

  • This Friday, January 12th, the students will have the opportunity to bring to school one Christmas gift they have received. This gift must fit in their book bag. The students will show their item to their classmates. Students may mention who they received it from, what it does, the colour (etc.) while speaking in French.

     

    Please keep in mind, the students are fully responsible for his/her item.

French:

Some possible answers:

  • Le matin, je brosse mes dents. (In the morning, I brush my teeth.)

  • Le matin, je mange le déjeuner. (In the morning, I eat breakfast.)

  • Le matin, je m’habille. (In the morning, I get dressed).

  • Le matin, je fais mon lit. (In the morning, I make my bed.)

Math:

  • Counting backwards from 20-0.

  • Counting by 2s (2- 20)

  • Students will not have homework this week. 
  • Reminder: Christmas Concert is on Tuesday and Students will have the opportunity to do their Christmas shopping on Wednesday. Each gift will cost a maximum of $2.

This week students will be learning about Christmas vocabulary. During Math, students will be reviewing numbers "one more than, two more than, one less than, and two less than a given number.

Les devoirs (homework) December 4th- December 8th

 ·         Continue doing the 3 sheets of the alphabet/numbers to 20.

·           Read lyrics to “Rémi Requin (yellow duo-tang).

·          Listen to the song “Rémi Requin” while do moving your wrist in a cirle when you hear the sound "r".

·          Continue listening to French songs.

  • Read the book: "Comment te sens-tu?" each night.

 

This week students will be learning:

In French class we will continue learning about emotions.

We will review:

·         Comment te sens-tu?

·         Je suis joyeux/joyeuse. (joyeux-masculin, joyeuse-feminin)(I am joyful.)

·         Je suis content/contente. (content-masculin, contente-feminin) (I am happy.)

·         Je suis triste. (I am sad.)

·         J’ai peur. (I am scared.)

·         Je suis surpris/surprise. (surpris- masculin, surprise-feminin) (I am surprised.)

·         Je suis en colère/fâché(e). (I am frusterated/angry.)

·         Je suis nerveux/nerveuse. (nerveux-masculin, nerveuse- feminin) (I am nervous.)

·         Je suis gêné/gênée. (gêné- masculin, gênée- feminin)(I am shy.)

 Pourquoi te sens-tu ______ (triste, contente)?” (Why are you feeling sad, happy? etc.)

·         Je suis contente parce que j’aime l’école. (I am happy because I love school.)

·         Je suis excite parce que j’ai un nouveau chien. (I am excited because I have a new dog.)

·         Je suis triste parce qu’il pleut dehors. (I am sad because it’s raining.)

          Students will be introduced to :

Que fais-tu quand tu es ____ (triste, content, excité)? (What do you do when you are sad, happy, excited?)

·         Quand je suis content/contente je chante. (I sing when I am happy.)

·         Quand je suis triste, je parle avec un ami. (I talk with a friend when I am feeling sad.)

   Math

Students will continue to learn numbers 1- 50.

·         Counting from 1-50, counting by 10 (10, 20, 30, 40, 50), and counting by 5 (5, 10, 15, 20 etc.)
