Important information to date:

English 9 - Lots of forms are going home this week. Please pass them in to your parents/guardians and complete them as needed and return to me ASAP.

            - We have started with our journals to get us back in to the groove. I can't wait to read all of your great ideas.

            - EVERYONE will have an independent reading novel by the end of this week. You should all read at least 20 minutes every day!!!! Some reading time will be given to you throughout the school day BUT you may have to do some reading at home as well.

English 112 - We jumped right in with our short story unit and you all have read Shirley Jackson's, "The Lottery". We will continue working with this story for the next few days.

               - DO NOT FORGET - your first written piece is DUE, TUESDAY, September 10. You will have SOME time to work on this in class.

               - FIRST TEST!!!! - STUDY your Elements of a short story TERMS for the test on FRIDAY, September 6.

Family Dynamics 120 - We began discussing the first unit, looking at the various dynamics of the family. You all began the first assignment, YOUR OWN COAT OF ARMS, a unique way of representing you and your family.

                            - COAT of ARMS Assignment DUE TUESDAY, September 10. Class time will be given to complete this assignment.

Exams are 2 hours but students can leave after 90 minutes.

ALL students have received their outlines and know what they need to study. Studying should start ASAP.

Students began their big final project today for Romeo and Juliet. All work will be completed in class with plans to begin presenting their projects next Friday. So students will have Monday - Thursday of next week to work on these. Students have been broken up into parteners and, therefore, attendance  is extremely important. We are on a major time crunch now as we only ave two weeks of classes before the final exam week...yikes!

2. Last day of classes is Friday, June 7 - ALL materials: library books and textbooks MUST be returned by this day in order to receive your report cards.

3, EXAM WEEK begins Monday, June 10.

1. Romeo and Juliet final projects/presentation will be due Monday, June 3 - you will have all of next week to work on preparing your projects and presentations. You will begin presenting yoour projects on Monday, June 3.

2. Last day of classes will be Friday, June 7 so exam week will begin Monday, June10.

IMPORTANT DATES:

1. HAMLET Notebook projects - these final projects for our Hamlet unit will be due to be passed in to me Monday, June 3. Any time after this date will result nin the loss of 20% per day as this assignment has been ongoing and you have had 6 weeks to complete it.

2. Thursday, May 23 - quiz on Act 5.

3. Monday, May 27 - final TEST for the entire Hamlet play.
