Please remember the following for tomorrow:

1. Bring in the decorations for the door decorating and the pumpkin carving for tomorrow

2. Please complete your work forms for Take Your Kid to Work Day. Please pass these in tomorrow.

3. Please go through any old clothes, towels, shoes, purses, bedding, stuff teddies, etc. for the clothes drive and bring them in for class points.

4. Dress up tomorrow, but please no masks and the dress code will apply.

Spme students needed to finsh and print off their autobiographies today, so they went to the lab and did so. The others read from their independent novels in preparation for their book talk next Wednesday, October 31. Students will receive their rubric for the book talk later in the week.

Students began their Scandalous Projects today. We read through all of the guidelines and requirements together as a class. Students worked in their groups on the discussion quesitons. We will continue this for the next 6 classes. We will be in the lab but students are encouraged to get materials for their presentation section of the project.

Students went to the lab today and started to type up their autobiographies. We reviewed the proper format for a title page. Students will need pictures for their title page so they were encouraged to gather some pictures (preferably electronic).

We will continue this work tomorrow.

All students should now be working on their second draft for their autobiographies. 

HOMEWORK - all students should finish up their second drafts at hometonight if they have not done so. We will be going to the lab tomorrow to start to type these up.

Today was the last day to complete the Open Book Assignment for chapter 19 on Nationalism and the Industrial Revolution.

We will begin the new chapter on World War 1 tomorrow.

- Students wrote some notes on Nathaniel Hawthorne - all attached below in powerpoint presentation

- Students recieved their new story "The Ambitious Guest" - attached below.

HOMEWORK - read through notes on author and read story. There will be a reading quiz tomorrow.

Students worked on their autobiographies today. Most finished their drafts and had them peer-edited and began their 2nd drafts in preparation for typing. We will continue this work on Monday.
