On Monday, we had a Terry Fox run here at Blackville School.  The elementary walked around the building 3 or 4 times, and the Middle and High school walked the cross-country trail. Parents and family members were invited to attend, and I was glad to see some of our parents in attendance.  Please take a look at the image gallery to see some pictures of us walking our own "Marathon of Hope."

We are at the beginning of Week 2, and we are very busy in our class! We have been spending most of our days speaking only in French, and having lots of fun.  The students are reading and even writing in French as well.  Great job guys! I also gave out the Scholastic book order catalogues this morning.  If you would like to order from these, please have your order in by Monday, September 20th. Now that everyone has passed in their photograph permission forms, I began our image gallery.  Please feel free to take a peek, and keep checking back as I hope to update these regularly. Have a great week!

Welcome to Grade 5!  Bienvenue en 5ieme Année! We are at the beginning of what promises to be a very exciting year!  As you enter your last year of Elementary School, you are most likely nervous about starting a new year and maybe sad to see your summer come to an end!  Our first term (until the end of January) we will be following the Intensive French program.  We have been offering this program at Blackville School for 8 years, and have had great success with it.  For the first few days, I will be speaking both in English and in French, to get us all used to spending our days in another language.  By the end of the week, our days will be mostly all in French.  You will still have Math with Mrs. Turcotte and Music with Miss Frenette in English. I have been so lucky at Blackville School to have had such wonderful, kind students.  I know that this year will be no different, as I already know all my students from teaching the Grade 4 French program!! I can't wait to see you all again, and begin our adventure in Grade 5!   Madame Jen ** This is my first year having a Teacher Page.  I will try to update it at least once a week, to keep parents and students up to date on what is going on in our class.
