Happy Valentine's Day! On Monday we celebrated Valentine's Day with a little party, some music, treats and of course, valentines! We were supposed to go skating, but the weather would not cooperate. We will try again this coming Monday.
On Thursday this week, we had our "défilé de mode." Our fashion show was very entertaining to say the least. Check out the pictures in the image gallery.
Have a great weekend!

As I am sure you heard, we had a fantastic time canoing on Thursday. The students were very well behaved, and were rewarded with some free swim time at the end. Please see the gallery to check out some pictures.

A reminder to parents that this Thursday, February 10th, we will be going canooing at M.V.H.S. We will be leaving at 8:35 am and returning sometime during the dinner hour. Students will need to bring a towel, a bathing suit, dry clothes, a snack for recess and their lunch.
On Monday, February 14th, I will be taking students to the Blackville rink from 2pm-3pm for their Phys. Ed. class. Please be sure that students dress in warm clothes and bring skates and a helmet.

Our last week of Intensive French was a busy one! Many of our students and teachers missed time this week due to colds and flu, me included. Despite feeling under the weather, we got a lot done. On Tuesday, Wedneday and Thursday, the students of 5JH were interviewed individually by an employee of the Dept. of Education. He took each student on their own and interviewed them on a wide variety of topics, to be able to assess their oral proficiency. He told me that he was very impressed with my students. Way to go 5JH! Also, students completed day 1 of a written Provincial Assessment in French. Since we had so many students out this week, I am going to complete this assessment on Monday.
On Wednesday, grades 5-12 were treated to a presentation by 2 people from the "Free the Children" organization, which tries to encourage young people to make positive changes in their community and globally.
On Friday, we had a lot of students missing due to illness, the Croft cup and interventions. Even so, we had a very relaxing day to finish off our IF program. We had some free time in the computer lab, cleaned out our desks and rearranged the class.
Have a great weekend!
