I hope that everyone had a safe, restful holiday season..I know that I did!  This week we finished up our unit on clothing.  Next week we are beginning our unit on animals.  This will be an interdisciplinary unit with both Grade 5's and both Kindergarten classes participating.  Check out the pictures of student's work this week! Only one week of school left to go before our Christmas holidays.  Despite the excitement in the air, students are still working hard in class.  We are continuing to learn about clothing in different ways.  Today, students even wrote poems about clothing in French!  A reminder that the Christmas Concert will be in the school gym at 9am on Tuesday of next week.  Hope to see you there! Mme Jen

As a post-reading activity for our book "Chaqun son chapeau" our students made their own hats like the children in the book did.  I think you will agree that they are very imaginative!

I'm sure that many of you are getting into the holiday spirit, as we enter December.  We have begun our unit on clothing.  I have attached some pictures and videos of student work.  As well, there are some audio files of students reading books in French about clothing. There will be no school tomorrow, Friday as there is parent-teacher interviews.  These are tonight from 6:00-8:30 and Friday morning 8:30-11:30.  I hope to see you then! Mme Jen

As we work on our clothing unit, I choose 1 student every day to dress another student up, as if they were a mannequin.  They then need to describe what they put on the mannequing.  The students love this!  I have included some pictures of what we have done so far.  I will continue to add pictures.
