Students read from their independent novels today so no reading for homework tonight. We will continue with the autobiographies tomorrow.

Students handed in their "Twins" assignment at the beginning of class. They then began the new story, "Lamb to the Slaughter". They received their assignment for this story and began working on this as well.

Students handed in their "Napoleon Resume" assignments at the beginning of class (these were due today).

Students then recieved a copy of the MLA sample paper today and we reviewed and discussed its contents. We will be using this format for any papers/assignments completed from this point. I have uploaded a copy of the paper under the "Documents" section of this teacher page for anyone not in class today.

Students then began chapter 19 with their open book assignment for this chapter. This assignment is due on Friday and all work is completed in class so it is imperative to attend all classes.

Students will continue working on their autobiographies next week. Today was a reading period dedicated to reading our independent novels in preparation for the next book talk on October 31.

Students received their autobiography assignment yestetrday. We went through the expectations and guidelines and students began making their brainstorming points. We will continue with this work tomorrow. This is a lengthy assignment and all work will take place in class. This assignment is the first big writing assignment for the grade 9s, therefore, they work very hard on the entire writing process in order to complete their best work to date.

Students continued working on their "Twins Assignment" in the computer lab today. We will continue this work Thursday and Friday and the due date will be Tuesday, October 9.

Students worked on their Napoleon assignments in the lab today. We will work on these until Friday. The due date will be early next week (tenatively Tuesday).
