We finished reading all of section 2 in chapter 17 today. Students then worked on all the vocabulary on page 546. We will finish this up in tomorrow's class.
We are looking at a test on chapter 17 next Wednesday, so be sure to be reading through your notes a liitle every night from now until then. I will be giving you a test outline which will help you with your studying as the test gets closer.

Students completed their Elements of a Short Story Quiz today and everyone did quite well. I handed back the results at the end of class. Good job!
HOMEWORK - please finish up the questions for The Lottery (Part A). You should also be working on the written assignment (Part B). We discussed the expectations for this part in class today. This will be due at the beginning if class on Friday. I have uploaded this handout below.

We finished the first story of the unit today. Students began reading the second story, "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson. Please finish reading this and complete the first three questions.
