Students received their marked chapters 1-6 test on The Outsiders today. Please get them signed and bring them back tomorrow and place them in your portfolio folder.

Students began working on these today and they will be completed in class.

Study your vocabulary and play thus far.

Please study the attached vocabulary words for Friday's test. You should also be sure you understand what is going on in the play thus far - characters, setting, plot, conflicts and events that happened before the play started...

Students finished up their character portraits in class today. Some students began the quiz on chapters 1 and 2. If you did not finish, you will do so in tomorrow's class.

Students completed the Industrial Revolution test in class today. If you missed today's class, be prepared to write your test upon returning to school.

I have uploaded the course outline for those who may not have received it.

WORK we have COMPLETED TO DATE:

1. Read aloud sections 1, 2 and 3 from the chapter on the Industrial Revolution.

2. Copied all terms for the chapter on page 395 of the chapter. Please add IMPERIALISM - forming relationships and colonies within other nations to make importing and exporting materials easier - to your list.

3. Copied, completed abnd corrected section 1 questions on page 399.

4. Copied and completed section 2 questions on page 404.

WORK completed TODAY:

1. Read through section 3 today in class - pages 405-408.

2. Students worked on the section 2 and 3 questions today.

WORK for TOMORROW:

1. We will correct the section 2 questions from page 404.

2. We will read the final section of the chapter, pages 410-411.

3. Students will work on sections 3 and 4 questions and the chapter review - pages 409, 412 and 414-415.

CHAPTER TEST will be Wednesday, February 14. I will hand out the test outline in class tomorrow for those who wish to start completing the answers to this ASAP.

The English 112 will be written the morning of Thursday, January 25. 

This exam is a skills-based exam (reading and comprehension) with the exception of your OMAM content and some basic short story information (review the stories we have read for the short story unit).

Today, each grade 9 student received a permission slip allowing them to leave the school after they have written their exams. Please fill this out and return it to me tomorrow morning. Students must pass this in to the office in order to leave after their exams. Thanks.

Students received their Schindler's List assignment today. They worked on this in class for 30 minutes. These must be emailed to me no later than 8:30 Friday morning.

I have attached a copy of the assignment below.

Pages
