This week’s focus question is: How do people decide what is right and wrong?  Think about this and create a list of what you believe is the goal of education?  Then, keep your list it in mind as you complete each of your daily tasks. If you find information that relates to your list or question, remember to include the following:

·       the idea or thought that sparked your interest

·       where you found it

Tuesday

1.     Find a quiet place, kick back and read anything of your choosing for 30 minutes.  PS. You should all be reading 30 minutes every day along with your studies.

Wednesday

2.     Sign in to CommonLit. 

3.     Read posted article and answer guided questions only.

4.     Make notes with focus question in mind.  If you are using a touch screen you do not have this option, so be sure to put ideas, thoughts and comments on your device or in a notebook you won’t lose.

2.     Re-read article. Highlight ideas you may have overlooked in relation to your focus question:  How do people decide what is right and wrong?

3.     Complete assessment. Try using evidence from your text to support your answers.

1.     Use notes taken throughout the week and examples from the article you’ve read, as well as your own personal experiences to describe your answer to: How do people decide what is right and wrong?

2.     Make sure to preview the entire text before you read.  Look at the map, pictures and scroll all the way to the bottom of the web page to see if anything catches your eye. ‘

3.     Once you’ve taken a peek around, scroll down to the section titled Cultural Geography.  Over the next 3 days read about Political Issues.

 

1.     What is political geography

2.     Who became the most important colonial powers in the region?

3.     How were indigenous people treated during this period?

4.     Describe the impact that nuclear testing at Bikini Atoll had on the population and environment.

5.     What is the purpose of the Maori Party? What accomplishments have they achieved for the Maori?

6.     What is the Treaty of Waitangi?

7.     What are some of the future issues facing Australia?

Good morning everyone.  Hope you all had a great weekend with your mamas and family members! Those of you from7/8D that have yet to send me the answers to the 5 questions I emailed you last week, do so as soon as you read this!  I have to commned you once again for sticking to your studies, I am so proud of your committment. Continue to hang in there, we've so got this!

Good morning and Happy Friday everyone.  I hope you had a great week and have even more enjoyable weekend with family,  Speaking of family, Sunday is Mother's Day.  So today, how about you make a list of reason;s why mom is so great or create a beautiful card for her, from you.  That is your assignment.  Try to include a thanks to her for taking care of you and helping you throughout this new experience.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen.  From now on I will be posting your home learning assignments twice a week on Monday and Wednesday. This may save you the hassle of having to check my teacher page daily.. Hope everyone had a great weekend!  You are missed!
