My class showed off all their extremely hard work that they put into their science projects today for the judges.  I have never been so proud of a group of students like I was today.  They were all above my expectations!  Way to go Grade 5TH, and please visit the Image Gallery to see pictures of all their projects!

Welcome back to class, everyone!  I am very excited to see everyone again and hear all about your wonderful adventures that you went on over the last week.  We have tons of fun ahead of us this week.   To start it all off, TNB will be doing a presentation on Monday!  Then we have to work hard on covering curriculum, because it will be the end of March before we know it.  Remember to come prepared to finish your Science Fair projects, because I would like them done in class. Also, just a little reminder that all Social Studies projects are due March 31st.  If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!!

Can you believe that it is March Break time already?  Where has the year went?  I want to take this time to wish all of my incredible students a wonderful March Break with their families.  Remember that when you come back on Monday, March 14th that we will be working on our Science Fair projects in class, so come prepared. As well, we will have our Theatre New Brunswick performance on the 14th.  This should be a great treat.  If you forgot to bring in your dollar for this event before March Break, please remember to bring it in on Monday. Enjoy your break everyone!
Wow!  We have a BIG week this week!  To top it all off, it is the last week before our March Break...does life get any better than this? Monday kicks off the first day of our annual Winter Carnival.  This is the day that you can dress-up as your favorite character.  Tuesday is backwards day, and hopefully all can participate in this day! Wednesday, I will not be at school because I will be helping Mrs. Barry organize the "So You Think You Can Dance District 16" dance competition.  However, Ms. Peterson will spend the day with you.  Kristen Gillespie will do us proud as she will be going to represent your school.  Go Kris!  Please dress in blue in gold for School Spirit Day. Thursday is Jersey Day.  We will also be participating in fun winter activities like snowshoeing, sliding, snow sculpturing and skiing.  Dress warm! Friday is PJ day.  Come and have a nice relaxing last day before our break...but come prepared to work because we will still be doing our rounds of Daily Five so that I can conference with everyone before we go out on our break.  There will be hot chocolate and cookies in the afternoon for a treat! Enjoy your week boys and girls and lets show lots of school spirit for this special occasion!

Kristen Gillespie did an amazing dance at "So You Think You Can Dance" District 16.  She had lots of tough competition from schools all over the district, but stood out as one of the best.  I am proud to announce that she won the Grade 3-5 Most Original Dancer!  Way to go Kristen!!  We are all very proud of you!

As you can see, even Quinn Donovan was sporting his pink scarf to show people that he was taking a stand agains bullies!  Most of the students participated in this very worth while event!  Grade 5TH is a bully-free zone!  Way to go students!!  Check out the image gallery for more great pictures!
Please DO NOT forget to wear pink tomorrow, Wednesday, February 23rd as Blackville School takes a stand against bullying and attempts to make it a bully-free school.  I know that our class tries its best to be respectful and bully-free to all its students, that is why I would like all my class to participate in this worthwhile cause!  Tomorrow I should see a sea of PINK in my classroom!
