On Thursday, March 3rd our class will be going outside to do outdoor activities (snowshoeing, sliding, etc) as part of our Winter Carnival. Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for outside play.

We are going to have some Winter Carnival acivities next week - February 28th to March 4th.Each day your chid can dress up different:
Monday - Favorite Character Day
Tuesday - Backwards Day
Wednesday - Blue and Gold Day
Thursday - Jersey Day
Friday - Pj day

Dear Parents, It seems that we are having a difficult time getting skating with Grade 3. One week it was too cold and now this week it is too warm for the ice. Hopefully we can go next week. Have an awesome weekend!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!
On Monday it is Valentine's Day, so if your child would like to bring Valentine cards for the other children in the class they may do this. Also, if they would like to bring a treat to share with the class that would be fine. Here is a list of students in our class (or you can do what Shana did and look at the class picture).

On Friday, February 11, 2011 Grade 3L and 2/3M will be going skating as part of their Physical Education program. They will be going to the Blackville Outdoor Rink. The children will leave the school at approx 8:45am and return by 10:00am. All children must have skates and a helmet in order to participate. Keep in mind that this will be an outdoor activity, thus they will need proper outdoor clothing for the winter conditions. Parents are welcome to come and participate (of course you will need to tie a few pairs of skates)!

Grade 3L will be having a Math test on Addition and Subtraction next week (Wednesday). I will be sending home a review and sample questions for you to help your child study. Good luck!

Just a reminder that Friday, Feb.4th is Jersey Day at Blackville School. This event is in conjunction with Jersey Day in Miramichi to support the Pond Hockey tournament taken place in Miramichi this weekend. Everyone remember to wear a jersey of your favourite team or your own team.

Fire Chief for the Day!!
Deanna Nordin was selected to be the Fire Chief for a Day. Members from the local and district fire departments came to our school and presented Deanna with a fire hat and a bookbag full of lots of goodies (fire detectors, batteries, flashlight, etc.) Our class will also be having a pizza party to celebrate. December Book Order
I will be sending in one last book order for the year. If you would like to order

Christmas Program
The Christmas Program will be held on Tuesday, December 21st at 9:00am in the school gym. This year our classs will be singing Jingle Bell Rock. I will be sending home the words so that the children can memorize them at home. I have also added the words on my teacher's page under the documents. We will also be practicing at school.

The Scholastic Book Fair will be at our school in the Library from Wednesday, Nov.24th to Friday, Nov.26th. Our class will be visiting the Fair on Wednesday afternoon. There will also be a Family evening on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00pm. This is a great chance to get some Christmas gifts!!
