Cafeteria update

Cafeteria is open this week, students will be able to purchase from the snack cart and order from the cafeteria menu.   However, to help with time, the cafeteria is asking parents to write down their child’s order and put it in a baggie with their name.

In addition, there are a few items that are currently unavailable but should be ready to order in the next week or two.  I have enclosed a new menu which will be updated as more items become available. Thank you for your patience.

Les Devoirs (homework)

  • Gym tomorrow.

We are continuing to do a “soft opening” this week and there will be no homework. We are focusing on getting to know each other, practicing new routines, and easing back into speaking French.  I encourage all parents to check in with their children to see how they are making out and feeling with everything happening around them at school.

Happy Tuesday!

Bonjour!

Just a note to let parents and guardians know that students have been adjusting well to the new changes to our daily school lives, they have been sanitizing and wearing their masks when needed. It has been a smooth transition. A big thank you to parents and guardians for the support at home and encouraging your children to have an open mind at school. It has made our return to school a very pleasant and positive experience.

Les Devoirs (homework)

  • Gym tomorrow.

Few Friendly Reminders:

  • After School Pick Up: Some students have been unsure of whether they are being picked up or taking the bus after school.  The return to school has been a big adjustment for everyone. It may be a good idea to check in with your child in the morning before school and make sure they know where they are going after school.  If they are being picked up be sure to send a note.
  • No breakfast program, snack cart or cafeteria this week.
  • Hand Sanitizer: if you are sending hand sanitizer to school with your child, please be sure it is unscented as there are staff and students who have sensitivity to scents.  Students are encouraged to use the hand sanitizer provided in the classroom as it is mild on their hands and follows health and safety guidelines.
  • Please send two clean masks a day.
  • Do not forget your water bottle.

Merci!

Bienvenue!

Welcome to Grade 5 French Immersion. I am so excited to be your child’s teacher and I cannot wait to see them this week.

A Few notes about next week:

Masks: Your child will need to bring at least 2 clean masks to school every day. If you have extras, you are more than welcome to send some to school to be kept in the classroom.

I will provide each student with a lanyard and a durable plastic bag for daily use at school. If you are unsure of how to store or transport masks a “ziplock” bag is a great idea. As long as masks are sent to school clean and in some type of closed case or bag.

Cafeteria: There will be no cafeteria/snack cart or breakfast program for at least the first week of school. If possible, please do not send anything that needs to be microwaved the first few weeks.

Busing: There will be no bus notes this year. Your child must keep the same pick up spot every morning and the same drop off after school. These can be two different destinations (ex: home in the morning and a babysitter after school).  If your child needs to go somewhere different, they will need to be picked up.

Water Bottles: Please send a water bottle as the fountains will not be available. There will be water bottle filling stations.

Student Fee: Fee is $25 and can be paid directly to Mlle Duffy.

We will begin this year by teaching healthy, safe practices here at school and do our best to have a positive and fantastique school year.

Merci!

Mlle Duffy
