Reading: Guided reading books should be read every night if possible. Nightly reading is very important for progression and helps with fluency as well as word recognition.

Math:This week, we will continue work on two-by-two-digit multiplication and review using the box method strategy. Later in the week, we will move on to the traditional method of multiplication. To have success in this unit, it is very important that students know their multiplication facts up to 9x9. In grade 5 (by the end of grade 4), students should have automatic recall of multiplication facts (give an answer within 3 seconds).
