Outdoor Time
Please be sure students are prepared to go outside when they arrive at school. Students will continue to go outside in the morning, at lunch and at the end of the day. Spring weather is slowly approaching but there is still a lot of snow on the playground. Students will still need a hat, mittens, jackets and snow pants or splash pants. Students will only be permitted to stay inside under special circumstances (ex: illness) and a note/reason from home.

In literacy this week we are reviewing heart words. These are words that do not follow regular sound/spelling rules.

Math:
This week, we will be starting double digit addition (without regrouping/carrying). We are going to review addition strategies (friends of ten, doubles, doubles + 1, +2, bridging through ten) and then move on the adding double digit with base 10 blocks and double digit numbers.
Extra Practice in math:
Doubles + 1
0 + 1 = 1
1 + 2 = 3
2 + 3 = 5
3 + 4 = 7
4 + 5 = 9
5 + 6 = 11
6 + 7 = 13
7 + 8 = 15
8 + 9 = 17
9 + 10 = 19
Doubles + 2
0 + 2 = 2
1 + 3 = 4
2 + 4 = 6
3 + 5 = 8
4 + 6 = 10
5 + 7= 12
6 + 8 = 14
7 + 9 = 16
8 + 10 = 18
9 + 11 = 20
Thanks!
