Literacy

This week, we will be looking at “long VCC - ild, -old, -ind, -olt, -ost”. Typically, VCC patterns are closed syllables because the consonants “close in” the vowel. The vowel typically makes it short sound.

“Heart words”

people – because – friend – move - both

Math:

This week, we will be continuing with double digit addition (with regrouping/carrying). We will continue to review addition strategies (friends of ten doubles, doubles + 1, +2, bridging through ten) and add using “normal/traditional” method.

Extra Practice in math:

Random subtraction

15 – 7 = 8

12 - 8 = 4

16 – 9 = 7

11 – 6 = 4

19 – 9 = 10

12 – 7 = 5

15 - 10 = 5

17 – 9 = 8

9 – 5 = 4

10 – 9 = 1

Doubles + 1

0 + 1 = 1

1 + 2 = 3

2 + 3 = 5

3 + 4 = 7

4 + 5 = 9

5 + 6 = 11

6 + 7 = 13

7 + 8 = 15

8 + 9 = 17

9 + 10 = 19

Doubles + 2

0 + 2 = 2

1 + 3 = 4

2 + 4 = 6

3 + 5 = 8

4 + 6 = 10

5 + 7= 12

6 + 8 = 14

7 + 9 = 16

8 + 10 = 18

9 + 11 = 20

Thanks!
