Finished the video on Earth Fromation then took notes on definitions. We finished the class watching a video on an environmental issue involving trouts and a class discussion on the new law for salmon fissing in New Brunswick.

Before the quiz today we went over 3 warm up questions that were similar to the quiz. After the quiz we looked at examples of Dividing Whole Number by Fractions using a number line and diagrams. (See the attached notes).

Further discussion about Sharon Wood & Dwayne Congdon and their venture. A reading on Sylvia Rempel and students completed a journal. (See attached PDF for the reading and the journal questions).
It is very important to attend every class since our discussions and solutions will be seen on test. If you are not present in the class ensure that you get your notes from another student and ask them about the discussions.

Students were taught the rule for multiplying fractions (Section 3.3 in the textbook). See the attached PDF file for note and example of how to reduce fractions to lowest terms while multiplying. Students had 21 minutes to work on homework in class.

Reviewed modelling mutiplication rules for whole numbers (ex. 3x4) and repeated addition is multiplication (4 + 4 + 4 = 3x4). We then moved onto Section 3.1: Multiplying Fractions and Wole Numbers. See the notes and examples attached below as PDF.
