In recognition of Literacy Week, Blackville School will be hosting a Literacy Night for students from kindergarten to grade 5, on Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the school cafeteria.
Students are invited to wear their pyjamas and bring along their favourite teddy bear.
The evening will include some special guest readers, prizes and a yummy treat provided by our Home and School.
We are looking forward to having lots of boys and girls join us for an enjoyable experience of stories and fun!

Note: English Language Proficiency Assessment(Reading Comprehension Component) will be administered on Thursday, January 17th and Monday, January 21rd. All current grade 9 students will be writing Reading Comprehension on Thursday, January 17th, (weather date Friday, January 18th) from 8:35-10:35 AM (or longer if they need the time) as well as other students from grade 11 and 12 who require this component. When finished the exam component students will return to regular classes for the remainder of the day.
The Blackville High School Student Council recently received a cheque for $300.00 for the school's breakfast program. The cheque was donated by Perry Underhill of Maritime Fence
The annual Elementary Christmas Concert is scheduled to be on Tuesday morning, December 18, 2012. If we have a weather day on Monday or Tuesday, the concert will be on Wednesday.
This year the concert will be in the cafeteria of the school. We will be doing the entire concert twice on that morning in an effort to accommodate people. The first sitting will be at 8:45 AM and the second sitting which is a repeat of the first concert, will be at 10:15 AM. Please choose the time that is most convenient for you!!
Due to the storm day Christmas Dinners will be:
Wednesday, December 12--Elementary. Cost is $5.50.
Thursday, December 13-Middle and High School. Cost is $7.00.
