K-5 Students at
Blackville School will be participating in a Spell-A-Thon. Students will be collecting pledges and all
money raised will be go towards the Elementary Field Trips!!! All pledges are due by April 25th. The top pledge earners will be awarded the following prizes:
1st place-iPad Mini
2nd place-
Nintendo DS
3rd place-
Mountain Bike
There will also be
prizes for the class with the most pledges. All students who have pledges will
get ice cream and top spellers will have their name put in a draw for a $50
movie night. On April 30th
Miramichi Hoops will once again be offering spring leagues for mini aged
players. Boys Spring league for all boys currently in grades 3 to 5 will begin
on Wednesda, April 16 at Gretna Green. Spring Leagues will run from 6 PM until
7:30 PM. There are 6 sessions being offered with the last one going on May
21st. No basketball experience necessary. There is no cost for anyone registered
with Miramichi Hoops. New members pay $20 for registration to cover insurance
costs.
There will be a meeting on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 7 pm for all 2014 graduates and their parents/guardians. The meeting will be held in Lori Brophy's classroom. Please make every effort to attend as a lot of information about the upcoming graduation events will be given.
Congratulations to all of our Blackville students who
participated in the Miramichi Regional Music Festival last week. The vocal duet of Cassandra Waugh and Ashlyn
Moody, our Blackville Elementary Choir, our Blackville School Girls’ Choir, and
St. Raphael’s Youth Choir all received Gold Seals from festival
adjudicators. The Blackville Elementary
Choir and the Blackville School Girls’ Choir were chosen by the choral
adjudicator to represent the Miramichi area in the school choir category at the
New Brunswick Provincial Music Festival which will be held this year at Mount
Report cards for grades 9-12 will be handed out on Thursday, April 3, 2014.Parent-Teacher for K-12 will be Thursday, April 3, 2014 from 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm [*please note the time change from previous years]Parent-Teacher for grades 9-12 will also be Friday, April 4, 2014 from 9:00 am - 11:30 am.K-8 will have regular classes on Friday.
Blackville Senior Boys captured the championship at
the Harvey High School Boys Invitational Tournament
on Saturday, March 29th by defeating Harvey High in the final 2-0.
Good Luck next week to our boys who are participating in the UNB
Senior High Tournament.
In support of World Autism Day, all students in ASD-N are being asked to show their support for persons with autism by participating in "Autism Hat Day." Blackville School is encouraging all students to participated by wearing their hat to school on Wednesday, April 2, 2014. Along with wearing your hat we are asking students contribute a $1 which will go to Autism Resources Miramichi Inc. Thank you for your support.
