On Wednesday morning, September 24th all grade 12 students will be bussed to
Miramichi Valley High School for the AARAO fair. Various universities and
colleges will be present to provide students with information on admissions,
programs, financial aid, campus life, etc. Students will have an opportunity to
walk about and then attend 3 individual sessions with institutions of their
choice.
Miramichi Valley High School will be hosting basketball clinics for both mini
boys and girls to kick start the basketball season.Members of the MVHS
boys and girls teams will run the clinics, with a focus on fundamentals and fun
games. The boy's clinic will take place on Wednesday October 8th and the girls
will go on Thursday October 9th. Both clinics will run from 6-7:45 PM. Boys and
girls currently in grades 3 to 6 are welcome to attend. There is no cost for the
clinics. These clinics are for all, those new to the game and those that have
Senior Boys travelled to Dalhousie on Friday where our Golden
Eagles defeated DRHS by a score of 4-2. Leading the way were Rookies Hugo
White-O'Connell with two goals and Daniel Moody with 1. Avery Brennan also
scored and Alex Hallihan played a solid game in the net. Boys next see action
on Tuesday when they travel to Stanley.
The Dungarvon ATV Club had an ATV Run on Saturday, September 13, 2014 with over 50 ATV'S! The group travelled from the Dungarvon Power Track to Boiestown. All proceeds will go to the Blackville School Breakfast Program. The school and students are very grateful for the genorosity of the Dugarvon ATV Club. Thank you from the Staff and Students of BHS!
The Elementary Soccer players were given uniforms tonight, as well as, their schedules. We look forward to a great season! Good luck to all players. The schedules for both the Blue Team and the Gold team can be found in the link below.
Attention students in grade 3, 4, and 5! There will be 4 Cross-Country meets held this year. The first will be next Wednesday, September 17 at Gretna Green. All students are reminded to be at Gretna Green and ready to run for 4:00, therefore, we ask that all students arrive by 3:50. Each child was sent home a notice today with the detailed informatioin. A schedule can also be found at the attachement below.
The Senior Boys capture 3rd straight BHS Kick-off tourney. Our
boys won 6-0 in semi vs. NSER. Scoring for the Golden Eagles were Hugo
White-O'Connell and Avery Brennan with 2 each. Singles from Allister Donohue and
Riley Keenan. Shut out for Dylan Storey. The final was shortened by Lightning
and our boys were up 1-0 on a goal by Avery Brennan.
Blackville School clinic will be held Monday, September 29thSchool immunizations clinics will target Grade 7 and
Grade 9 students.
All Grade 7 students will receive the whooping cough
vaccine (Tetanus-diphtheria-whooping cough).
All Grade 7 girls will also receive the three doses of
HPV vaccine over a six-month period.
All Grade 9 students
will receive meningococcal vaccine (Menveo).
There will be a Hunter Education/Firearm Safety Course at
the Blackville school starting September 8th 2014.
