The countdown is on, however school is not yet finished...  REMINDER to all grade 7 students (7Hart and 7Demmings) to bring 10$ by next wednesday for our field trip on THURSDAY June 9th to Beaubear's after the math assessments.Check out the website: http://beaubearsisland.ca/ Grade 7 and 8 wrote their French Writing assessments the last week of May and I am really pleased with the results. They will be marked /30 and handed back to you by next week (hopefully). Please have them signed and if possible, read your story to the person that you wrote about! I'm sure they would love to here them. GREAT WORK! Grade 6-Working on their projects= monsters, strange phenomena, aliens etc.Grade 7-Auto-Biographies are finished and Biographie's on a friend should be almost done. Hockey card on a famous canadien are due Friday and the final project will be due in a few weeks. Weekend stories /10 will give you extra marks so hand them in.Grade 8- Finishing up the final projects on extreme sports tomorrow June 2nd. We will be working on the yearbook sheet as well as writing topics and weekend stories worth /10, please hand in your work.  Please make sure to get lot's of rest, drink plenty of water and eat a good breakfast in preperation for the Math exam which is June6-8th for grade 7 and 8. Blackville Middle SchoolCongratulations to all of the oratory participants, Go for 42 was a success and the pie in the face as well!  It's hard to believe that were in the month of may already!  I hope that you all enjoyed the long weekend and are ready to work! To kick off the week, we had a presentation on bullying at JMH that really struck a cord. Hopefully it made you think! This week in French we will be moving along with our new units that we started last week. Grade 6- Les phenomenes etrangers Grade 7- Les grandes personalites canadienne Grade 8- Les sports extremes projet final! (we will be working on the final project this week!)

Grade 6- Due to the nice weather, we are kicking off this week with some spring discussions and a book! Paragraphs will be started Thursday and title pages due then as well! Grade 7- finishing up your personal inventions due Friday! /25 Good copy of paragraph and power point or smart notebook presentation. Grade 8- Project on les sports extreme choosing a sport and finding the origin, rules and famous players will be done in class. Test Thursday on your numbers!~ Great discussion today!  Keep up the good work. Enjoy the nice weather!!  Next week we will be focusing on narrative writing with Easter inspired themes!

Grade 6- Started to discuss and describe the characteristics of our robots and present them to the class. Our paragraphs are in the works and will be starting a new unit soon!      Grade 7- EUREKA!! Grade 7's are working on their own personnel inventions! They have to create their own invention: Describe it, the importance of it, the social impact and you have to create or draw one. Finishing the paragraph tomorrow and the students will have to write their own as well as a smartnotebook or powerpoint presentation worth /25 marks. I'm really excited to see what you brainstorm! BE CREATIVE!    Grade 8- Paragraphs on la fin de semaine are due Tomorrow in class. We are working on the dangers of sports and the injuries that can occur while playing them. We will finish those paragraphs up on Monday and continue in the unit! Great work! Keep up the effort.

 Friday was a very successful day! Thank you to all of those students who participated in the event. Learning to paint with waterlolor was very neat and I hope that you all took something from this workshop! The paintings have been submitted to the salmon association! Good Luck! Don't forget that tomorrow is "Le Jour du Saint Patrick"! Bring out your Irish roots and dare to wear green!! Update for the week: Grade 6 Your paragraphs on "Les Robots" along with a drawing worth /10 are due Monday as well as you have to create a robot and present it in front of the class worth /10!  Total=   /20 points. Tomorrow I will give you time to finish them up and will do some Saint Patrick's day activities! Grade 7 Projects on Les inventions have to be finished by Friday and we begin presentations on Monday! Keep up the great work and come and see me for corrections or questions. Grade 8 We will be continuing your final projects on 1920's-2011 only on Friday's while we move into a new theme on Monday! "Les sports extreme" !! For the rest of the week we will be finishing up March Break writing and doing some Saint Patrick's day activities. A reminder that Report Cards will be handed out the 29th so work hard and hand in all of your assignments on time. Have an awesome rest of the week!!!

Remember you can choose anything and research it from 1920's until today!!The grade 7's are writing a paragraph on which invention they feel has the biggest social impact: la roue or le telephone. Projets worth /30 outline will be passed out sometime this week. You will be asked to research an invention of your choice and we will vote on the one that has the biggest social impact! Choose your partner wisely.The grade 6's Les Robots continued. New Book on Tuesday and we will begin to invent our own robots!Have an awesome week, remember only 4 days until March Break so work hard!
