All grade 9 students received information regarding the "Take Our Kids to Work" program today. This will take place on November 2, 2011. All grade 9 students across Canada will be participating in this very successful event. All grade 9 students are required to find their own work placement. Please fill in the form your son/daughter brought home today and return this form to Mrs. Jennifer Underhill on Monday, October 24. I have attached a link to a video to provide more information about this program. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Sherrard at 843-2900.

Immunization forms were sent home today with ALL grade 9 students. This immunization is to prevent your child from getting the meningitis disease, so it is a very important immunization. PLEASE return these forms to the school TOMORROW as the Public Health nurse will be here to pick them up.

The following are the schedules for the Elementary Jamboree to be held on October 15 at North and South Esk Elementary.  Students will be given schedules after the game on Thursday.  Open attachment to see your team schedule.

There will be an Elementary Fall Fair for K-5 students in the school gym on Wednesday, October 12 from 6:00-7:30 pm.  Admission is $5.00.  A canteen will be open selling hotdogs, pop and cotton candy.  Come out for a night of fun, games and prizes. 

The Middle School Fall Fair will take place on Thursday, October 13 from 7:00 - 8:30 pm.  Admission is $5.00 and a canteen will be available.

All proceeds to the Blackville School Girls Choir.

Every Friday in October will be "Popcorn Day" for Elementary and Middle School students.  Popcorn will be sold for $1.00 at their snack time in the open area in front of the music room.

 

There is no school for students on Friday, October 21 so popcorn will be sold on Thursday, October 20.  All proceeds will go the Blackville School Girls' Choir.

There will be a middle school dance on Thursday, October 6th from 6:30 - 8:30 pm.  The theme is "Black and White".  This event is in support of the Girls' Choir who will be taking part in the Unisong Music Festival in Ottawa.

High school students and their parents are invited to attend the MVHS AARAO Career Expo, taking place the evening of October 12 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at the Miramichi Valley High School gym.  Over 40 universities, colleges, and private schools from the Atlantic Provinces will be there with information and to answer any of your questions and concerns.  This is an opportunity to assist your child with career planning.
