It is getting to that time of year when scholarship applications are starting to come into the school. All scholarships will be posted on this web site on my teacher's page, in the grade 12 classroom and will be sent out through the Scholarship Email list. If any student and/or parent has not yet signed up for emails please just let me know and I will add you.   When applying for most scholarships students will be required to have references. It would be a good idea for students to begin asking for at least 2 reference letters. You can ask a teacher, an employer, a clergy member, or a neighbour. References should not be from immediate family members. Students can begin to apply for University as soon as first semester marks are back. I am always available to assist students in the application process, just stop in to see me and we can set up an appointment.

Hi Everyone, Welcome back for another School Year. I am very excited to be the Guidance Counsellor at Blackville School this year. It has been a busy couple of weeks trying to get settled in. I have already began to meet with some grade 12 students regarding their future plans. I will be meeting with all grade 12 students by the end of September. As well I am in the process of getting email addresses from all grade 12 students so that I can send out Scholarship Information. Email is one of the best ways to keep all students informed of all the scholarship offers that come in and to remind you of due dates as they approach. I will also be able to let you know about important college and university deadlines. As well if any parents want to sign up to receive these emails as well please send me your email address at at kerri-ann.sturgeon@nbed.nb.ca. Make sure you sign up at www.studentawards.com and www.scholarships.org to receive more scholarship updates. I hope everyone has a great year!
