This is our first attempt at uploading video of students' show and tell presentations.  These are quite noisy in the background, and students were a little nervous, but I think you will agree that they are very impressive! Mme Jen

My goodness, I can't believe how long it has been since my last post.  We have been busy here in 5H!  Here are a few things that we have been doing: Our Remembrance Day ceremony went off very well.  Congratulations to Cassidy Coughlan, Kendra Jardine and Grace Steeves who read the poem "Au champ d'honneur" at the ceremony.  It is the French version of "In Flanders Fields".  I was so proud of how well they did!  Also, congratulations to Jenica Gallan for delivering the "Thank You" at the end of the ceremony.  It was heart-felt and well delivered.  Way to go Jenica! On Thursday, we had another presentation from Kouchibouquac Park.  The students really enjoy these. On Monday, students had a presentation by "Mad Science."  You will be getting a notice in your child's book bag today explaining the program that they will be putting on after school. In class, we have been doing a lot of writing.  We wrote our first letter to our pen pals from N.S.E.E.  We are anxiously awaiting their reply! Also, we have been working on writing narratives.  This is our first time trying this in Grade 5, and certainly the students' first time trying this in French.  So far the stories have been impressive! I have been busy working on report cards.  These will be going out early next week. Have a great week! Mme Jen

We had a spooky week in 5H this week.  On Monday we dressed in our costumes and gave out treats. Yummy.  Please check out the image gallery to see all of my spooks. It was a fitting way to begin our unit on food.  We have been "diggin in" to this topic, and students are learning a lot in a short time. A reminder that there is no school for students tomorrow, November 4th as there are parent-teacher interviews for the High School and all other teachers will be in meetings. Also, please note that the school Remembrance Day ceremony will be in the gym on November 10th at 10am. Happy Birthday Matthew McNeil! Mme Jen

Another great week in Intensive French.  We are continuing to work on our dream homes.  Students are in groups, and are now writing about their homes.  We will begin presenting these next week.  This afternoon we decorated pumpkins.  Thank you to all parents who brought pumpkins in. I had a couple, so everyone got the chance to decorate one. On Monday, students are welcome to bring in their costumes.  They won't be putting them on until after lunch.  In the afternoon, students can pass out treats if they wish.  We have 24 students in our class. Have a great weekend!
