French- Complete quick writing  “Le diner”

Here is my example to follow.  Remember to use your dictionnaires to help with vocabulary words

Le diner

-Qu’est-ce que tu manges? What do you eat

Je mange un hamburger et les frites pour le diner. I eat a hamburger and fries for dinner

-Qu’est-ce que tu bois? What do you drink

Je bois le limonade pour le diner. I drink lemonade for dinner.

 

French menu project- Today I would like students to use the folded paper provided to make the cover of their menu.  On the cover include the name of restaurant with a picture. See examples for ideas.

Music- Check out Mr. Hache's teacher page for the lesson today.

Reading- I have signed every student up for Dreamscapes. It’s a free program like dreambox that has students read and answer questions. The data is then sent back to me to review.  The login and password for this program is in the student packet that was picked up Monday. I have uploaded an assignment for the students to complete during week 1 of home learning.

French- Complete quick writing for “Mardi” “Le déjeuner”

Here is my example to follow.  Remember to use your dictionnaires to help with vocabulary words

Le déjeuner

-Qu’est-ce que tu manges? What do you eat

Je mange les œufs et le pain grillé pour le déjeuner. I eat eggs and toast for breakfast

-Qu’est-ce que tu bois? What do you drink

Je bois le jus d’orange et le jus de pomme pour le déjeuner. I drink orange juice and apple juice for breakfast.

 

Start French project: Sheet is attached and in your learning packets. Students will be creating their own menu for their own restaurant.

They will need to decide the name of the restaurant and the type of food they will be selling.

For example: I’m going to have a Mexican restaurant and I’m going to call my restaurant “Le Taco”

Over the week I am going to be breaking down the project into little parts each day.

Today I would like students to think about what type of restaurant they would like to have and what the name will be. Remember this is a French project so try to come up with a French name.

French-**From new packet** "Ma famille!" Continue with your weeklong project. You will be creating a family tree with a minimum of 6 people shown on your tree. You may draw or use pictures of family members.  An example is shown on the bottom of the sheet. Today for this project your goal should be to describe the last three family members of your choice.

Here is a model you can follow:

Ma mère s’appelle ___(name of mother)_____________________.  Elle est ____(adjective*)____________________ et _______(adjective*)______________. Elle a les cheveux _______(hair color)_____________ et les yeux ______(eye color)________________.

 

Example of what a good copy should look like:

Ma mère s’appelle Krista.  Elle est gentille et patiente. Elle a les cheveux bruns et les yeux bleu.

 

Mon père s’appelle ______________________.  Il est _________________________ et ________________________.  Il a les cheveux _________________________ et les yeux _________________________.

 

Ma sœur s’appelle _________________________.  Elle est ______________________ et ___________________.  Elle a les cheveux _____________________ et les yeux _______________________________.

 

*Adjectives will be found on the back of the famille sheet.  Make note that garcon-means boy and fille- means girl. So, if you are talking about mother, sister, aunt grandmother make sure you choose words from “fille” list. If you are talking about your father, brother, grandfather, uncle make sure to use the words from the “garcon” list.

Remembrance Day activities

Remembrance Day Trivia *Answer the following 5 questions and send them to me in an e-mail Ashley.cortes@nbed.nb.ca by the end today.  Students with all 5 answers correct will win a prize when we return to school!

1.      What day do we celebrate Remembrance Day?

2.      What do the colors of the poppy represent? (red and black)

3.      What is a veteran?

4.      What year did WWI end?

5.      What year did WWII start?
