The Storming Juno assignment is due Friday, December 18. We began watching the video on Friday, December 11 and some people were not in class. This film is avaiable on You Tube so if you missed Friday's class, it is STRONGLY recommended that you watch this on your own time in order to complete the assignment properly.

We have been discussing the events surrounding the end of WWII and, especially, the D-Day invasion in Normandy, France. We watched the movie "Storming Juno" today and students received their assignmet for this fim. I have attached it below.
I am asking students to do a little research on the events surrounding Juno Beach on their own, in order, to get a better idea as to the emotional situations our Canadian soldiers endured during this battle. This research will help you when writing your letter.
The due date for this assignmet is Friday, December 18. There will not be any class time given for this as we will be moving onto the Holocaust on Monday dnd we have some major sections and films to view for this section before Christmas Break.

Plan for tomorrow - Quite a few students are ready to type their poems so tomorrow we will be heading to the lab to type up and print off the poems. Then students will be ready to begin their illustrations of their poems.
NOMEWORK - please finish the drafts of the your poem.

We also read though section 2 pages, 864-871 and information on the D-Day battle, pages 872-873. Please re-read this tonight because there WILL BE a little quiz on it at the beginning of class.

Students worked on the questions for OMAM chapter 3 today. Please finish these up for homework. We will go over these in tomorrow's class.
Students also received the assignment for chapter 3 - Found Poem Assignment. I have attached the assignment guidelines to this post. This will be due Wednesday, December 16. All work will be completed in class.
