There will be a meeting on Wednesday, April 24th at 7 p.m. in room C203 - Lori Brophy's room. The meeting is to discuss graduation activities, prom an safe grad. All parents are encouraged to attend.
The students in grade 8 were given the opportunity to cut out their skateboards using a template provided during their shop class with Mr. Grattan.A graphic designer was brought in to help the kids design images for their skateboards.The students were then given the opportunity in their physical education class to ride their skateboards.Paul MacKinnon used the format used with the “Skate Pass” program with the students to make the experience as safe and enjoyable as possible while challenging them outside of their comfort zone.The students really enjoyed the experience and we will look at continuing this activity in the future.

A Public Service Announcement video created by students from the Media Studies 120 class won $1500.00 for Safe Grad activities. The video was entered into the New Brunswick Liquor's Safe Grad Contest. Congratulations go out to students Kyla Coughlan, Austin Pleadwell, Candace Purcell, and Nicole Sullivan for a job well done.
The district oratorical competition for French Second Language was held Wednesday, April 17 at the Bathurst Education Center. Blackville had four students participate and all four placed. Way to go! The results were as follows:
This is for grades 5-8. Come out for a night of fun games. Compete and see who can claim bragging rights. Just a chance to have some fun with friends.Canteen will be open and admission is a item for the food bank. Time from 6-8:30 on Thursday, April 18.
This is a competition for all students, and a prize will be given out to one winner from elementary, middle and high school. We are asking for a logo design for our website. Home & School would like all students to draw something that they think Home and School means to them.
Students who will be in Grade 12 for the 2013-2014 year can apply for Yearbook Editor, Yearbook Editor Assistant, Business Manager and Photographer. Students who will be in Grades 10, 11 for the 2013-2014 year can apply for Yearbook Editor Assistant and Yearbook Photographer. For more information on the positions and how to apply see Mr. Carter. Deadline is Friday, April 26.
The H&S is selling tickets for a basket for Mother’s Day. The price is $2.00 or 3 for $5.00. There will be some at the Post Office, Credit Union, or any member can be contacted for tickets. The draw date will be on Wednesday May 8, 2013. We are fundraising for new playground equipment.
