The student council is selling tickets on two benches that convert into a picnic table. The tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5. That can be purchased from one of the high school student council members or from Loretta in the office. Draw will take place on Friday June 20th. Proceeds help support participation in the 2014 National Student Council Conference being held in Kelowna, British Columbia.

       Congratulations to both of our school choirs who competed in the New Brunswick Provincial Music Festival.  We just received word that our Blackville School Girls’ Choir placed third in the 18 year and under school choir category and our Blackville School Elementary Choir placed first in the 12 year and under school choir category.  Congratulations to all choir students on a job well done!

       We would also like to congratulate all of our choir and band students for putting on a fabulous Spring Concert on Tuesday, May 27.  On behalf of Miss Frenetic and all of the choir and band students, we would like to extend our thanks to all of the parents, students, and staff who assisted with the set- up for the concert and to those who assisted during the concert.  Your help was greatly appreciated!  A special thanks to Mrs. Barbara Donovan for giving her time to be our emcee.

Congratulations to Candace Purcell for receiving the 2014 Turnaround Award.

The Miramichi Track and Field Club will be hosting a Hershey meet this year in Miramichi, on Sunday evening, June 15th.  The schedule is attached.

The Blackville Senior Boys Volleyball Team received new uniforms complements of NBCC-Miramichi.

The grade 5 floor hockey team finished off a terrific season with a 14-13 Overtime win against Croft Elementary to win the Allision Cup. William Schofield scored the overtime winner for Blackville. Congratulations to all players on a great season!

       Blackville School will be presenting its annual Choir and Band Spring Concert on Tuesday, May 27/14 at 7:00 p.m. in the school cafeteria.  The concert will feature performances by the Blackville School Elementary Choir, the Blackville School Girls’ Choir, the Blackville School Jazz Band along with the Grade 9U Instrumental Class, and some vocal solos.  Beverages and fudge will be sold during the intermission.  Admission is $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for students.  Parents are asked to enter the school by the main entrance, proceed upstairs, and down the hallway to the cafeteria.  All choir and band/instrumental students should arrive at the school on May 27 by 6:45 p.m.
