With the warmer weather upon us we would like to remind both parents and students of the dress code for Blackville School. The school dress code is outlined below and we thank you in advance for your continued support.
DRESS CODE
NO:
· Headgear (caps, toques, headbands)
· Revealed midriffs (No skin should be showing, tops must meet top of pants)
· Halter tops, belly tops, tube tops, muscle shirts…no strapless tops
· Shoulder straps must be wide enough so as not to display bra straps
· Excessively short shorts/skirts (hand width above the knee)
Friday May 24 and Saturday May 25

A Public Service Announcement video created by students from the Media Studies 120 class won $1500.00 for Safe Grad activities. The video was entered into the New Brunswick Liquor's Safe Grad Contest. Congratulations go out to students Kyla Coughlan, Austin Pleadwell, Candace Purcell, and Nicole Sullivan for a job well done. Thank you from the Grad Class of 2013.
The district oratorical competition for French Second Language was held Wednesday, April 17 at the Bathurst Education Center. Blackville had four students participate and all four placed. Way to go! The results were as follows:

Grade 7 Stephanie Hayne--3rd place
Grade 8 Cameron Hambrook--1st place
Grade 9 Ashlyn Moody--1st place
Grade 11 and 12 Core French
Cassandra Waugh--1st place
This is for grades 5-8. Come out for a night of fun games. Compete and see who can claim bragging rights. Just a chance to have some fun with friends.Canteen will be open and admission is a item for the food bank. Time from 6-8:30 on Thursday, April 18.
This is a competition for all students, and a prize will be given out to one winner from elementary, middle and high school. We are asking for a logo design for our website. Home & School would like all students to draw something that they think Home and School means to them. The prize is an Empire Theatres $25.00 movie card, display of the logo on the website, as well as a write up in the newspaper. The deadline for entries is April 22, 2013. Please use this paper for your art work.
