Math: This week, we will be exploring division and focusing on basic division questions. This will be a review of grade 4 concepts. It is still very important that students know their multiplication facts when working with division. If a student knows that 7 x 6 = 42 then they can easily solve 42 ÷ 7 =?

For those who still working on their multiplication facts, facts should be reviewed regularly at home (see sheet in agenda).

Math Homework: Basic division questions ex: 36 ÷ 6 =? If students are struggling to find answers, have them think of their multiplication facts:

6 x ? = 36

6 x 6 = 36

36 ÷ 6 = 6

Reading: Students should be reading 3-4 times a week. This nightly reading is very important for progression as well as word recognition and fluency. Please be sure to check in with your child to see if their reading is being done. Even on short weeks, students should be reading each night. Books to follow this week.

Cell Phone Policy: Friendly reminder that students are not permitted to take photos or videos at school. This includes on the bus or during indoor recess. Students are not permitted to have their phones during the day at school. If students have a cell phone with them, it should be off and in their book bag. The only time students are permitted to have their phones is during indoor recess at lunch. This only happens if we stay in due to weather.

Have a wonderful week!

Merci!
