Homework:

Literacy:Read three nights this week. Return books Friday.

Math:Double digit subtraction worksheet.

Math Homework:This week, students have a double-digit subtraction math sheet. We have been working on this concept for a few weeks. It is very important that students start with the ones/units with each question.

Literacy

In literacy this week we are reviewing ou and ow sounds.  "ou" for the /ow/ sound is usually at the beginning or in the middle of the word and “ow” for ow is usually at the end.

“ou”

out – couch – mouse – loud – about - house

“ow”

cow – now – how – brow- sow - vow

Exceptions when N or L follow the ow, it is in the middle of a word.

Ex: down – town – crown – frown

Math:

This week, we will be continuing with double digit addition and subtraction (without regrouping/carrying). We are going to review addition strategies (friends of ten doubles, doubles + 1, +2, bridging through ten) and add/subtract without bast 10 blocks or manipulatives.

Extra Practice in math:

Random subtraction

15 – 7 = 8

12 - 8 = 4

16 – 9 = 7

11 – 6 = 4

19 – 9 = 10

12 – 7 = 5

15 - 10 = 5

17 – 9 = 8

9 – 5 = 4

10 – 9 = 1

Doubles + 1

0 + 1 = 1

1 + 2 = 3

2 + 3 = 5

3 + 4 = 7

4 + 5 = 9

5 + 6 = 11

6 + 7 = 13

7 + 8 = 15

8 + 9 = 17

9 + 10 = 19

Doubles + 2

0 + 2 = 2

1 + 3 = 4

2 + 4 = 6

3 + 5 = 8

4 + 6 = 10

5 + 7= 12

6 + 8 = 14

7 + 9 = 16

8 + 10 = 18

9 + 11 = 20

Thanks!
