Homework for Monday May 3rd, 2010 ~ As you all know, I am not a promoter of homework.  I want my students to go home and enjoy their evenings with their families, like I like to do with my own.  The students work hard all day, and I don't believe they should have to go home and work hard all evening too.  Studies have shown that homework does nothing for students until they are upper Middle School age. I do have to give homework tonight, since there is a writing contest through LIFE Radio.  This is a contest entitled "My Mother Is a Hard Worker."  The due date is Thursday May 6th, but unfortunately there is no school this day.  I am wanting the stories to be completed tomorrow so that the students can be consulted with tomorrow during our "Daily Five."  I know my class will do a super job on these writing projects.  Good luck class!
