All students, Grades 1-12 will return on Tuesday, September 5, 2017.  Kindergarten students will start either Tuesday or Wednesday as outlined in the letter they received in June 2017.  We look forward to a great year!

  UPCOMING CHOIR AND BAND SPRING CONCERT 2017

         There will be a Spring Concert Dress Rehearsal for the Blackville Elementary Choir and the Blackville School Girls’ Choir on Monday, May 29, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria.  Grade 2 choir students are required to stay after school on Monday so that they can attend the rehearsal at 3:00 p.m.  Please contact Miss Frenette if there are any questions or concerns about this dress rehearsal.

        Blackville School will be presenting its annual Choir and Band Spring Concert on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the school cafeteria.  The concert will feature performances by the Blackville School Elementary Choir, the Blackville School Girls’ Choir, the Blackville School Jazz Band along with the Grade 9T and Music 112 Instrumental classes, and vocal solos and duets.  Beverages, fudge, and tickets on a 50/50 draw will be sold at the canteen during the concert with the proceeds being donated to the Grade 8 field trip.  Admission is $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for students.  Parents are asked to enter the school by the main entrance, proceed upstairs, and down the hallway to the cafeteria.  All choir and band students should arrive at the cafeteria on Tuesday evening no later than 6:40 p.m.  Elementary Choir students are asked to drop their fudge off to Miss Frenette on the morning of May 30.

Grade 4M attended a computer coding arcade for grades 4-6 at Planet Hatch in Fredericton on May 3rd.  All students prepared computer programming projects with "Scratch" online.  Scratch is a computer programming site for kids where they can create their own games and animations while learning about computer programming.  The site is https://scratch.mit.edu.

                The 2017 Miramichi Regional Music Festival will be held this year from April 18 to 

 April 24.    Choral performances will be held at the James M. Hill High School Auditorium in Chatham.  The schedule for our school is as follows:

       THURSDAY, APRIL 20, 2017

  9:40 a.m.   Class 3202   Blackville School Elementary Choir

1.      “Simply Gregorian”

2.      “Give Me Wings”

 10:00 a.m.  Class 3207   Blackville School Girls’ Choir

1.      “Alleluia For Our Time”

2.      “Fare Thee Well”

              Both choirs will travel on the same bus which will depart from the school at 8:45 a.m.  Three parent volunteers are needed to travel with choir students on the bus.  Please notify Miss Frenette at the school ASAP if you are available to assist us.

            Elementary Choir students are asked to dress appropriately for this event, no jeans or sneakers.  Members of the Blackville School Girls’ Choir will wear their choir dresses with appropriate footwear.  We will make a stop at McDonald’s on the way home so students should take some money with them or bring their own lunch. If there are any questions or concerns, please contact Miss Frenette at the school.
