With the change of seasons and the passing of years always comes change. The Blackville School staff would like to wish all the best to the teachers that are moving on to bigger and better things with the closing of this past school year.
As mentioned before Mr. Muck is strolling into his retirement years and we wish him many years of happiness, even though we know we will still see him roaming the halls on a daily basis. Enjoy your well deserved rest Mr. Muck!
Mr. Rodney Buggie has excepted a position with the School District 16 as the head of the M. O. V. E. Adventures program. His expertise will be greatly missed, but hopefully he will continue to coach sporting teams and the students of Blackville will benefit from his athletic wisdom in this manner. Good luck Mr. Buggie!
Mrs. Tanya Matchett is trying her hand at a new school that will be in the best interest for her own children. A school much closer to her home in efforts to try and reduce her families travel time drastically. We wish her the best of luck and we will all miss her smiling face and her boys!
Sadly, Mrs. Tobin-Forgrave is pursuing a career change that will utilise her amazing skills as an IF teacher aiding all the other IF teachers in the district. District teachers are very excited to have her expertise, yet the students of Blackville are saddened by her transfer. She, as well, will be greatly missed by students and staff alike! Good luck Madame!!
The entire educational community of Blackville School would like to extend a big welcome to the educational professionals that will be replacing the above teachers.
First of all, a big congratulations to Mrs. Trudy Underhill-Brophy for accepting the position of Principal! She has big shoes to fill, and with no doubt she will rise to the challenge! The Vice-Principal's job is still pending, but the site will be updated upon further notification.
A huge Blackville School welcome is extended to Mr. Craig Russell who has accepted the Elementary, Grade 9 and Outdoor Pursuits position replacing Mr. Rodney Buggie. He has been working in the district for a few years now, and took a leave to work on his french skills in Quebec this past school year. We welcome you home Mr. Russell!
Ms. Lindsay Hart has accepted the Middle Level French position replacing Mrs. Michelle Tobin-Forgrave. Ms. Hart has been teaching for over three years at St. Andrews Elementary School in Chatham where she had a Grade 5 Intensive French class. They say one person's loss is another person's gain, and Blackville School is gaining a great teacher with Ms. Hart! Welcome Ms. Hart!
Mrs. Beverly Demmings has accepted the Middle Level Math position replacing Mrs. Tanya Matchett. Mrs. Demmings has been a Math Coach since 2007, working in various schools around District 16. She comes to us with 15 years of teaching experience at all levels from elementary, middle and high schools. She has travelled and lived in many areas of the world and has taught in both Canadian and International schools. We couldn't be happier to have her join our staff and enlighten our students.
In addition, we are proud to report that Mrs. Anne Mahoney is returning to the halls of Blackville School after a long term of working at the district office as a Literacy Clinician. We welcome her and her expertise with open arms and know that she will be beneficial to the students of our fine school.
Together, the Blackville School and the community of Blackville, both join in extending a warm welcome to these education professionals as they transition to their new teaching positions. See you in September!
