BHS Participating in Lights Out Canada

Posted: April 20, 2011

In partnership with Earth Day Canada, students and teachers at BHS will celebrate the 6th annual Lights Out Canada event on April 21, 2011 by turning off their lights and engaging with climate change awareness and action. ghts Out Canada provides participating schools with comprehensive lesson plans, step-by-step participation guides and posters. Over 330 schools with 150 000 students are already registered for this year's event. The project has been entirely coordinated by youth, for youth since it was launched by Keleigh Annau when in high school on Vancouver Island in 2005. Rick Mercer recently endorsed the project in a hilarious video greeting here which can be seen on the Lights Out Canada homepage: www.lightsoutcanada.org. A map of this year's participants can also be seen on the homepage.
