A few friendly reminders... - It is very wet outside- please remember to dress for the weather conditions :) - Middle school students will be going to see Shrek at JMH school on May 22- please send in 3$ by May 9th for this field trip. -The last dance of the year will be on May 22. - Grade 8 Banquet invitations have been sent out and must be returned by June 2nd.      Grade 8- This week we are finishing a writing piece on an important person in our lives. We will also begin talking about our role models. If time permits, we will also start a mini project of a graduates card (sort of like a hockey card).    ** a rubric has been sent home for the biographies students wrote last week.   Grade 7- This week we will present our writing on our favorit physical activities and their benefits. we will also start discussing activities and the norms surrounding them: rules and rituals.    Grade 6- This week we will present our research orally and discuss wether we believe the strange happenings are real of fictituous. We will then write our opinions in a paragraph form. ** a rubric has been sent home from the writing piece, the monstre I know

A few friendly reminders... - It is very wet outside- please remember to dress for the weather conditions :) - Middle school students will be going to see Shrek at JMH school on May 22- please send in 3$ by May 9th for this field trip. -The last dance of the year will be on May 22: tickets are 7$ and must be purchased by May 9th.    Grade 8- This week we are talking about someone who is important in our lives and why. We will also start a writing assignment on that person.      Grade 7- This week we will finish our modeled writing of a paragraph of the benefits of physical activity, write and present indivual paragraphs, and start a new project to plan a day at camp.   Grade 6- This week we will start a small research project on strange things in Canada. Subjects will be chosen by students individual interests.

These are to be passed in at the end of class Wednesday.    Grade 7- This week we will read about how to keep a healthy body through physical activities. We will also start writing about the good things associated with healthy activities.   Grade 6- This week we will finish our writing on a monster. Students will present their writing in class on Wednesday.

A few friendly reminders... - It is very wet outside- please remember to dress for the weather conditions :) - Please send back report card enveloppes as soon as possible! I am still missing some!! *** Our Grade 8 Easter Basket draw will be taking place on Thursday, April 17th. WE MUST HAVE ALL TICKETS RETURNED NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY, APRIL 16th!!!!***   Grade 8- This week we will be talking about two important events that have happened in each students life. This could be as important as a birth of a family member, getting a pet, or as fun as a surprise party. Homework on Monday, April 14: All grade 8 students are too finish their mini posters on their partners impportant event. If you did not have time to get your sentences corrected please remember these two sturctures we worked : un évènement important dans sa vie est quand... un deuxième évènement imporant dans sa vie est quand...    Grade 7- This week we will be talking about our routines in the morning and after school as well as our favorite physical activity, why we like it and how it affects us.   Grade 6- This week we will be reading a book on UFO's.

A few friendly reminders... - It is still cold and wet outside- please remember to dress for the weather conditions :) - I am still missing some signed report card enveloppes- please bring these in as soon as possible!    Grade 8- Our final projects have all been presented (finally!). We have started our third unit of the year "Un album souvenir de classe" which is about: ·  Share events from one’s life   · Explain why a person is considered important   · Express qualities of a person   · Give the main characteristics of a student We will be doing a few projects in this unit and I look forward to learning even more about each student through this unit!  :) -Title pages are due tomorrow.   - Please have your final project rubrics signed and returned for tomorrow.   Grade 7- This week we have started our third unit on "Un camp pour ados" which is about: · Analyse daily activity choices   · Identify camp activities and plan a schedule   · Present rules, security norms and the equipment needed for an activity   · Describe and analyse ones eating habits   · Write an information brochure The students seem excited about this unit and I look forward to it with them!   -Title pages are due tomorrow.     - Please have your final project rubrics signed and returned for tomorrow. Grade 6- This week we have started our third unit on "Les phénomènes étranges au Canada" which details the following: · Describe a monster   · Present a phenomenon   · Discuss characteristics of a phenomenon (fiction or non-fiction)   · Express reactions to a strange phenomenon   The students had a lot to share today about strange things that they have heard of or experienced. I am certain this unit will be an interesting one! -Title pages are due tomorrow.    - Please have your final project rubrics signed and returned for tomorrow.

A few friendly reminders... - It is still cold and wet outside- please remember to dress for the weather conditions :) - Please send back report card enveloppes as soon as possible or to parent-teacher *** Parent-Teacher interviews are now being held on April 3rd from 4:30-7pm. ***   Grade 8- This week we will be finishing up our unit on extreme sports with a debate. Both teams (of 3 students each) present a brief intrtoduction explaining the sport. They will then each present 6 arguments for or against their sport being extreme. Students will then debate the points given. Then, both team will conclude with final remarks on why their sport is extreme or not. - Please have your comic strip rubrics signed and returned for tomorrow.   8Steeves- Please be ready to present your final projects on FRIDAY, April 4th. 8O'Keefe- Please be ready to present your final projects on MONDAY, April 7th.   Grade 7- This week we will be finishing our final projects: a poster created with the intentions of selling their inventions from their last mini project.     Grade 6- This week we will be finishing our final projects: a poster created with the intention of informing others what their robot can do for them. -Please sign and return your rubric from your robot tomorrow.
