I began the class today by correcting the vocabulary from the short story The Lamp at Noon. We then read aloud and discussed the short story The Ransom of Red Chief.  The handout of the story and the questions are attached.

I began the class today by correcting the questions and vocabulary from the short story The Chrysanthemums.  I then had students copy notes on Sinclair Ross, author of the short story A field of Wheat. We completed a pre reading activity for the story and then we read aloud and discussed the story.  Finally, students spent the remainder of the class working on the vocabulary and comprehension questions from the story. The notes on the author, the questions, and the vocabulary words are attached.

I began the class today by correcting the questions from the short story The Lamp at Noon, and students completed the vocabulary in class.I then gave notes on O’ Henry, author of the short story The Ransom of Red Chief which we will read tomorrow. I gave students a handout on Humour in a Short story which we read aloud.  The handout notes on the author is attached.

Students spent the first 45 minutes of the class working on their questions and vocabulary from the short story The Lottery. We then orally discussed the questions and vocabulary from the story.

I began the class today by correcting the questions and vocabulary from the short story A Marker on the Side of the Boat. I then had students copy notes on John Steinbeck, author of the short story The Chrysanthemums. We completed a pre reading activity for the story and then we read aloud and discussed the story.  Finally, students spent the remainder of the class working on the vocabulary and comprehension questions from the story. The notes on the author, the questions, and the vocabulary words are attached.

I began the class today by correcting the questions and vocabulary from the short story The Piece of String.  I then gave notes on Sinclair Ross, author of the short story The Lamp at Noon on page 141 of Literary Essays and Short Stories.  We completed a pre reading activity for the story and then we read aloud and discussed the story.  Finally, students spent the remainder of the class working on the comprehension questions (1-6) on page 151. The handout notes on the author is attached.

Students spent the first 15 minutes of the class working on their questions and vocabulary from the short story The Possibility of Evil.  We then orally discussed the questions and vocabulary from the story. Finally, we read and discussed the short story The Lottery and students worked on the questions and vocabulary from the story.  We will complete these on Monday.

Today we began the class by completing a pre reading activity for the story The Possibility of Evil.   We then read aloud and discussed the short story The Possibility of Evil and students began working on the questions and vocabulary. Students spent the beginning of class completing the quiz on the Elements of a Short Story.   I then had students copy notes on Bao Ninh, author of the short story A Marker on the Side of the Boat. We completed a pre reading activity for the story and then we read aloud and discussed the story.  Finally, students spent the remainder of the class working on the vocabulary and comprehension questions from the story. The notes on the author, the questions, and the vocabulary words are attached.
