Applications for the J Dean McAllister Bursary are now available in the guidance office.  The bursary is valued at $500 and is due May 25.  Applicants must be entering university or community college with a preference in Social Sciences.

The Harrison McCain Scholarship is valued at $16,000 payable over 4 years.  Criteria for the award include a minimum of 80% average in senior year of high school, financial need, leadership qualities, and recognized initiative in funding your own education.  Applications are available on University webpages.  Deadline is March 1

UNB will be hosting a Transition to University Event at Rodd Miramichi on Feb. 6th @ 7:00 pm.
Student and parents can learn about how to transition successfully to university.  Topics include differences between high school and university, support services offered at UNB, scholarships, tips for living in residence, and advice on how to succeed academically.  Register at
Students can also have their applications assessed on the spot.  Students wishing to do this will need to arrive at 6:30 and have already applied online at least 24 hours prior to the event.  Students will need to bring a transcript and the $65 fee if they did not pay it online

The Wessex Scholarship is valued at $5000.  Applications are due March 9.  Applicants must have a minimum average of 80% and be entering a post secondary health care degree program at an institution in Atlantic Canada

New Brunswick Federation of Labour (NBFL) Awards
All awards are $500 and due by June 30th.  Application forms are available in the guidance office
1.  James A Whitbone Memorial Scholarships - Available to students entering their first year of post secondary studies.  Eligible are members, or their children, who belong to local unions affiliated with the NBFL
2.  Tim McCarthy Environment Prize - open to NBFL members or their children, who are pursuing higher education in fields relating to environmental protection and education.
3.  NBFL Solidarity Bursaries - open to any person regardless of union membership pursuing post secondary education full-time 
The Hugh H Mackay - James A MacMurray Scholarship is valued at up to $14000 over 4 years.  Applicants should be interested in a career in business and must be attending an university in NB, NS, or PEI in the fall.  Applications are available in the guidance office and are due May 1
