General Information for 6L

  • Red Folders went home today
  • Please ensure students have a protractor at school every day
  • Parent Teacher will be held Thursday from 4:00-6:30 and Friday 9:00-11:30
  • No School Next Friday April 13th 
  • Book Fair is open until Thursday 

6L French/Francais

6L Math:

  • Student should be familiar with using a protractor to measure and trace angles
  • Tomorrow we will begin looking at angles in triangles

6L Social Studies

  • We have been exploring cultures from around the world this week
  • We will continue exploring different countries this week 
  • Students should have their interview project completed and handed in

  • French Spelling Test on Friday

6L French/Francais

6L Math:

  • We reviewed for our Test on Friday today
  • We will continue our review tomorrow
  • Students should be comfortable with how to properly set up a survey, how to graph survey results, calculate probability, and demonstrate equality in expressions

6L Social Studies

  • We have been discussing culture this week, we have discussed the different and common elements of culture
  • Tomorrow we will look at how culture transcends generations and also how culture may change over time

6O PIF

  • Students are working on their writing piece about their invented robot

The Scholastic Book Fair will be held from April 9 -12, 2018.
 
The book fair is not just for teachers and students.  All visitors are welcome to come Monday - Thursday from 9:00 am till 4:00 pm., or during Parent/Teacher Interviews on Thursday evening from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm.
 
 In your red folder you will find 
·         Parent letter
·         Book Fair Highlights Flyer
 
Teachers can make photocopies of their Book Wishes and pass them out to students with the Book Fair Highlights flyer.  This is a great way for parents who cannot attend the Fair to participate in the program. "Wish Granted" forms are available online on the Classroom Wish List page for parents who want to make a donation but cannot attend.(http://www.scholastic.ca/bookfairs/wishlist.php).
 
Books I want to Read forms should be completed by the students and taken home to parents.  If parents would like to buy any of these books, they can send money or cheque (payable to school) with their child.

However, there will be many more books to choose from at the actual book fair.

  • Students should be studying the map of the world, students should know how to identify and spell all continents 
  • We are currently working on a Chez Moi project - students must create a map of how to get from the school to their home. The map should use all elements of a proper map.
  • Students will have a Quiz on the map of Canada and the World tomorrow

  • Half Day Tomorrow (Wednesday)

6L French/Francais

6L Math:

  • We began our new unit on collecting and graphing data today - we will continue throughout the week
  • Students are responsible for surveying the entire class and representing their data in a table as well as with a graph

6L Social Studies

  • Students should be studying the map of Canada, students should know how to identify and spell all provinces and capitals
  • Students should be studying the map of the world, students should know how to identify and spell all continents 
  • We are currently working on a Chez Moi project - students must create a map of how to get from the school to their home. The map should use all elements of a proper map.
