Math-a unit test (Unit 2, both 6 and 7) will be given on Wednesday. Students have been reviewing since last Friday.

Math: Complete review questions in textbook if not already completed.

        Study/practice math multiplication facts up to the 12 times table.  There will be a quiz Monday on tables 0-5. 

Gather Terry Fox pledges from family and friends for the Terry Fox walk on Sept. 29th if you wish to participate.  

Covid-19 immunization consent forms were handed out to those students who are, or will be 12 by December 31st 2021. Please sign and return if you are interested and have not yet made an appointment. 

Yearbooks are available to pre-order and can be purchased online @ If you pre-order before October 22, you will receive $10 off and if you get personalization, you can choose up to four free icons. 

Math and FILA help will continued to be offered on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 2:00-3:00 in my classroom for my homeroom students next week. I will inform you of any changes to the schedule should they arise.

Homework and Current Class work:

FILA-finish writing sentences with first 5 spelling words (tellement, juste, longtemps, loin, presque)

     -Read the levelled reading book sent home each evening and bring bag to class each day. Return bag on Fridays for new books on Monday each week. 15 minutes is recommended to read each evening. If students are above the 30+ reading book level, they may read their French library book. Please journal the amount of pages read each day, along with the title of the book, the date, and a brief summary of what was read. 

     -Have last week's spelling test signed and returned, with each mistake corrected 3 times each. 

     -practice verbs avoir and etre if having difficulty

Math 6- working on p. 72-73 #5,6,8 in class

Math 7- working on p. 69 #1,2 in class

Social studies- hand in interview that was due Monday.

Sent home today were the Covid-19 vaccination consent forms and the Terry Fox pledge sheets.

FILA 6/7- a verb quiz on Avoir and Etre in present tense will be on Monday.

Social studies- interview notes are due Monday (interview of someone in an older generation)

Immunizations: will be held September 28th 

September 30-Truth and Reconciliation day will be orange shirt day and we will spend the day doing lessons and activities to honour this day. All adults and students will be encouraged to wear orange and reflect on the meaning of this important day.

Hello everyone,

I hope the new school year is going well for everyone. I am pleased to be here at Blackville school this year!

A reminder to students and parents that media release forms, field trip consent forms and photo orders are due Monday. 

Beginning next week there will be after school literacy help on Monday, and after school Math help on Tuesday in my classroom from 2:00-3:00. Students who choose to stay will go home on the later bus run at 3:00. Details for the upcoming after school activities for Wednesday to Friday will be posted shortly. 


Math 6/7: Finish questions Lesson 9 Unit 2 (handout) #7,8,9,10,12 

FiLA 6/7: Spelling test Friday on words of the week (autre, chaque, depuis, jamais, moins, parfois, encore, maintenant, d'accord, dehors)

Sciences Humaines 6/7: 1) complete maps of world (continents and a countryin each) and Canada (provinces and capitals)

 2) Interview someone from an older generation to find out how family life has changed over time, including typical activities during evenings at home, weekends, school days, special holidays or events. We are investigating how our culture and society have changed over the years. We will later compare that data to our own experiences. Due Monday
